Domain name change (migration)
Protocol:
- In the DNS-admin of the client their domain name provider, the IP-address of the CX Server needs to be set in the A-record/CNAME.
- In the backstage of the application, under "Domain names", the new domain name needs to be added. Make sure to either remove or redirect the old domain name to the new one.
- A new SSL-certificate needs to be produced for the new domain name. There are 2 options. Both may have associated costs for the installation or maintenance of the certificates. Please refer to our information about pricing for the details of these costs. The options are:
- Client buys their own certificate.
- CrossmarX installs a free certificate by Let's Encrypt. The certificate is refreshed automatically every 90 days.
- In the backstage of the application, under "Blueprint Settings", there is a setting "Preferred domainname" which needs to be set to the new domain name. This setting provides for example links in e-mails with the new domain name.
- In the backstage of the application, under "Deployment" → "General settings", there is an engine specific setting for the domain name.
- In the Studio at the application details, under "Deployment" → "Instances" → "Engines connected to this instance", there is a setting for "Domain name" and "Final domain". These can only be set by a member of usergroup "CrossmarX Plus" in the Studio.
